ㅤ#1 all i ask is that you provide some decent, basic respect for both me and my character. at any point if i am uncomfortable i am allowed to speak up and say something. i'm usually pretty cool with most stuff and it takes a lot to irk me. at minimum i don't want to interact with you if you find underage character's "hot" or attractive, nor do i want to interact with you if you are on the right of the american political spectrum.

ㅤ#2 please do not assume that red is a himbo in any shape or form. he is particularly intelligent in street smarts and was taught from a young age how to read and write in two languages. he is large and burly and gentle but he is not stupid...at best, perhaps socially clueless.

ㅤ#3 i would prefer not to interact with people using language like "futa" or "f+" or other variations of language that might upset trans people. i am not here to debate with you whether or not it is offensive because i have already deemed it as such. i will tolerate being in the same space as you but i will not interact with you or blacklist you.

about meㅤ Hello. i'm kyle. ☻ i have been writing for final fantasy xiv for about two and a half years now, but have an extensive history going back about a decade (and maybe more) of writing/roleplaying. i've always loved to write about canon characters but xiv was my entrance into writing original characters. red has been one of my fixations for awhile now and i am so thrilled to be able to write him with others!! i know being hit with the rules immediately might be intimidating but i just want people to know where i'm at and what i stand for.

ㅤthings to knowㅤ i am part of the queer community. i am a white man. i try to navigate writing red and my other non-white ocs with as much consideration as i can. if anything seems incorrect or please let me know. i do research into the things i'd like to flesh out the best i can.

extraㅤ in terms of the xiv universe there are more things i have interest in than others. i have an interest in locations like othard and thanalan, with an enjoyment in niche worldbuilding. my favorite trial series is the four lords. my favorite raid is ivalice. i have little interest in the ancients and the monster hunter raids. run content with me i am begging!!!

"Far across the rolling waves, towards the rising sun, there lies the island nation of Hingashi. In the distant past, the realm's great lords vied for supremacy over its seagirt confines in a long and bloody conflict. And taking to battle in their lieges' names were noble swordsmen whose art was forged in the crucible of war: the samurai. Eventually, the nation was unified under one banner, and these warriors came to wield their katana not upon fields as part of an army, but upon streets as protectors of the peace. But as a neglected blade grows dull with rust, so too do men forget their purpose. Amidst waning memories of the old ways, a determined few hold fast to their convictions, hands by katana grips, awaiting the moment for steel to sing."

Red is one of the many rogue swordsmen sprinkled out kugane and it's sistering regions. Born just before the occupation of Doma and subsequent destruction of his home, the man had always known what villainy looked like. Leaving behind his previous ambitions of martyring himself to the Doman cause, Red would set his sights on the shores opposite to the Ruby sea, the renown port city of Kugane.

Incidentally, Kugane became red's home after abandoning doma for sweet safety, where he trained under his uncle in the art of swordplay. his uncle's current whereabouts are unknown. These days, red suzuki is an errand boy, an extra set of hands to those that need it. he's looked at fondly by many of Kugane's residents, treated as one of their own....Vigilantism isn't a foreign affair to Hingashi. to many, the kugane watcher is an unknown individual, one of many that have taken justice into their own hands. no one would know that this kind young man is known for slicing down sekiseigumi where they stand.

the gatekeeper

"Legend tells of a peerless samurai who, at the behest of a king, ventured forth to drive a host of oni into the sea. Yet for all his strength, Tenzen could not do this alone, and so he turned to the Four Lords─greatest of the auspices─for assistance. Together they succeeded, and afterwards journeyed west, far from the realms of men, to live out their days in solitude. A faerie tale, perhaps...but often in such tales a kernel of truth can be found."

things would change greatly with the passage of time. he would become N'ami's midwife just before the rediscovery of his uncle as a major crime boss in the beloved port city, and he would be left listless in the process. at the end of his friend's pregnancy, red would seek passage to his home of yanxia, hoping to reconnect with the newly built doma underway. he would be taken in under the teachings of the kojin, later being drawn to the ferocious volcanic activity south of the ruby sea.it would be here that red learns of his aetherial ancestry, sharing soul with the legendary hero tenzen, marking him as his true descendant. he would thus prove himself among the four lords, becoming the gatekeeper of reisen temple.now capable of wielding aether made up of the four legendary auspices, he looks after the land of othard, seeking to quell any danger that looks it's way.no more would the land and it's people be subject to mistreatment.
